Every node within the cluster is capable of processing requests. When a request arrives, the receiving node determines the appropriate data owner and forwards the request accordingly. Currently, a newly joined node instantly assumes responsibility for its designated data segment. While it can process write operations effectively, read requests often yield null results because the relevant keys remain with the former owner.
